Our family has been camping here for 20 years. Still love the campsites and the river access, but the campground is in dire need of cleaning!!!
We arrived to our campsites well after check-in and it was apparent it had not been cleaned. Trash, cigarette butts filled fire pit, food remnants. Trash along the river’s edge…NOT COOL AT ALL! This did not help the wasp/yellow jacket infestation. They were really bad this year…actually the worst ever! We literally had to eat our meals in our tents or vehicles.
We camped for 4 days and there was never anyone cleaning the campground, campsites as people left, or the vault toilets…which were ABSOLUTELY UNBEARABLE! All vault toilets are unpleasant, but routine cleaning helps a lot!
The “camp hosts” would drive in each day to put new reservation tags on the campsites as needed and leave. I approached them myself to engage conversation that we were checking in our three sites. They were a nice, very elderly couple, but obviously physically limited for cleaning the campgrounds, or enforcing any campground rules.
We were fortunate there were other good, rule-abiding people campers because there were no actual camp hosts residing on site.
Really disappointed! I have to assume this is the same for other campgrounds in the area if managed by the same? PLEASE SAVE OUR CAMPGROUNDS IN OUR BEAUTIFUL STATE!

The area is nice and we were right on the water. We reserved spots 13 & 14.
My only complaints would be:
1) the fine sand....it sucks, especially with kids running around and playing and kicking it up.
2) tons of yellow jacket wasps.... so much so that we noticed the campsite came equipped with yellow jacket traps (that didn't really work). But, we figured out how to distract them for a couple hours at a time. We threw a piece of meat (Bologna or hamburger patty) on our campsite, but away from our "hangout" area and they would eat it. You could literally see chunks disappearing... pretty fascinating 👌🏽. When it's gone, we just added another one.
3) the bathrooms are not the best.. no fault of the camp hosts. People these days are just disgusting. That's about it... but because of that fine dirt, we probably won't be back.
Also, if you like to take hikes... there are no trails from the campground. You would have to drive down the road.

This is a fabulous place for camping with the river next to the sites. We are going back again in a week.

Beautiful campground right on a gorgeous river. The relaxing sound of the rushing water was the loudest noise. The campground was pretty packed and the other campers were astonishingly quiet and respectful.
