What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

Great sites and campground location for multiday stay.
However, some of the vault toilets were extremely sour to the point that the smell travels to campground loops away. These require attention while some are fairly new and very nice. Hopefully, the "sour" ones are soon for attention.
Overall experience would have been 5 stars. It is a very nice place to stay.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Clean, stocked bathrooms with enough facilities to accommodate a full campground. Well maintained sites except the water was broken in H loop. Some first- come -first -served camp spots available during the week but was full by 10:00 on Friday. River is accessible and Blue Hole was fun to watch all the kids jumping off the rocks. Parking for the blue hole can be challenging. We rode our bikes into Packwood Lake on the lower trail and it was really nice. Prices for groceries in Packwood are pretty high.

Great campground, substandard bathrooms with some odor problems, campground closes too early for fall colors, should stay open till mid-October.

This is a very lovely campground situated next to a beautiful river, in amongst old growth firs, cedars, and yew trees. The bathrooms are clean, and there are water spigots interspersed throughout the campground. There is a swimming hole, the Blue Hole, where the water is deep and cold. This is a good camp for exploring the trails on the east side of Mt. Rainier NP, around the Ohanapakosh and Sunrise areas.

Sites along the river are more brightly lit (or warmer, depending on however you want to interpret it). Plenty of clean toilets. Area was well-maintained and relatively quiet for being a developed campground. I'd stay here again.
