We made our reservations thinking we were going to stay in a beautiful forested area. We reserved a electric/water RV spot. We ended up in a gravel parking lot! No privacy between campsites. The bathrooms were almost 1/4 mile away.
The “resort” was very underwhelming. When we checked in, no one checked to ensure we were really supposed to be there. It was like anyone could have just parked and stayed. The bathrooms in the main resort building had no soap, no toilet seat covers and stunk horribly. The cost to use the hot springs was $18 per person for 90 minutes but I honestly don’t think they monitored who came and went. The hot springs looked like a giant hot tub with a fountain in the center.
Everything in the store was extremely overpriced. A simple t-shirt was $32 plus tax.
The only nice part was the surrounding forest and many trials for hiking.

Very good campground and campsite. Spacious and heavenly to be surrounded by such a forest canopy.

Nice area to camp in (minus the bugs). Enjoyed my morning walk with the dogs through camp. They offer recycling and pet bags. Sol duc trail is near by and the other way is the hot springs . Crescent Lake is a short ride away which I highly recommend to kayak. The Spruce railroad trail goes around the back of the lake which allows bikes and dogs. These activities were some of the highlights of our trip

I last visited Sol Duc as my start point for a 4 day back pack into the high country and 7 lakes basin about 40 years ago. It had been too long. 2 new hips and 1 knee and 40 years later I solo camped and hiked to Sol Duc falls from the campground. Beautiful. So pleased I can still explore the Olympics.
