Just a beautiful campground among the old growth forest . We chose a great site #6 in loop A which had plenty of room for our large REI tent and a screened tent for over the picnic table . Very private too with lots of trees blocking other campsites
Not all of the sites would be appropriate for our tent, they seemed better suited to trailers or RV’s

Our trip was a success until I realized I hadn't bought enough ice or firewood, so we took a second trip back in to town for additional resources. Our spot was nice and perfectly spaced and was relatively quiet until loud campers came by. Facilities were clean and since we had prior reservations we had nothing to worry about with checking in. The camp was "full" for the most part with reservation signs everywhere but some campers didn't show up so that was annoying because we could've camped with friends. The only recommendation that I have for this location is I wish they sold firewood since the requirement is to buy local and not bring in wood. The other downside to this camp is the location, a lot of camping spots but the roads are not kept up. Be careful when driving to the right after leaving the camp there's a huge drop where it looks like the cement caves in. Also if you want to know what each spot looks like at this location make sure to google the campground loop and site number, there are some spots that are pretty small.

Excellent place to spend a getaway. Hosts were great. Definitely planning a return trip. My only complaint: dog owners, please pick-up after they do their business - it's your responsibility as a dog owner. Otherwise, leave the dog home.

Nice and quiet campground in the middle of a mature Douglas fir and hemlock forest, ferns and other deciduous plants chest high between camp sites. Good privacy. Roads and camp sites maintained nicely. But many of the pit toilets are in need of repair. The doors are heavily rusted and floor and walls and ceilings need painting. No hand sanitizers in the pit toilets. I’m sure this is a Forest Service budget issue. Hopefully Congress’s vote to fully fund the Water and Land Conservation Fund and National Park system will allow many of these repairs to be made. Some day we’d like to see showers added to WA campgrounds.
For campers who like to use the fire pits, please be aware which direction the wind is blowing. It may be blowing into an adjacent camp site, making their stay unpleasant.

Love all the trees and coverage. Great for kids to ride bikes and scooters cause the road is paved also. My favorite campground so far

Iron Creek is located within easy access to the East and South entrances to St Helens. Sites are spacious and private. Each site appears to have a good deal of space in between each which is a plus. Campground has a loop trail and the river can be heard in the background. Campground is close to trails and overall is a great place to relax.

Dense forest, gorgeous big spots, ample parking for 2 vehicles plus a small trailer. Only downside is the toilets are a bit stinky. Will always come back here.
