What Guests Are Saying
Takhlakh Lake Campground offers stunning scenery, with breathtaking views of Mt. Adams and a well-maintained lake. The hiking trails and campground facilities are generally clean, and the camp hosts receive praise for their friendliness and diligence. However, issues such as a lack of potable water, occasional overcrowding, and recent management challenges can detract from the experience, especially during peak times.

One look over the lake at Mount Adams and it's obvious why this is a popular campground, it's beautiful here. Having said that if you're looking for a quiet, serene experience camping here, think again. Too many people making too much noise. I likened it to a small town, in the woods. After being woken up multiple times, the last time around 2am with someone nearby chopping wood and with no chance of a nap during the daytime, I left after one evening having gotten very little sleep. This was my second attempt to camp here, the first time was more enjoyable despite heavy rain and thunderstorms, at least it wasn't crowded. As a tent camper this will likely be my last trip to this campground especially during its peak season.

Some drawbacks with massive mosquitoes on the lake trail and campers who were quarantined nearby. The lake is wonderful with stunning views of Mt. Adams. Very popular!!

We actually moved to dispersed camping at Ollalie Lake instead. Loved it. Clear clean water. Quiet. Quite a ways from the restroom and mosquitos were vicious.

The surroundings and scenery were absolutely breathtaking! The fishing was amazing, we easily caught our daily limit each day! The FS road is both paved and dirt and it has some very rough and bumpy areas. The mosquitos can be intense so come prepared! We will absolutely be camping here again!

Bathrooms were clean! Campsite was nice. The staff person was very busy and could use help but she took the time to check in with us.

Surprised by elevation (4,400 ft.), forgot to check b/4, so nights were colder than we expected. Remote campground, but worth the long winding road & 5 miles of gravel & potholes. Mt. Adams often hid from view by clouds, but the few early morning it was viable were glorious.
Lake was too cold to swim 65 degrees, but wished I had brought wet suit, which might have made it possible to get in.
We drove 5 additional miles to Killen Creek Trail & hiked 7 miles r/t to junction of the PCT & still all snow above this point. Beautiful views of Adams & Rainier & lots of wildflowers.

Loved it here! Most of the road from Randle is paved, about 6 miles is gravel with some potholes. Highly recommend the Takh Takh Meadow trail!

Busy campground with mice, flies and mosquitoes. We will be looking elsewhere next year...

Beautiful campground - you can’t beat the view. Be ready for mosquitoes and deer flies in June/July.

Great place to camp in September. Except for the invasion of daddy long leg spiders on a tent! Lake is beautiful.
