What Guests Are Saying
Takhlakh Lake Campground offers stunning scenery and a serene atmosphere, with clear waters and beautiful views of Mt. Adams. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean facilities and friendly camp hosts. While it can be crowded on weekends and lacks potable water, the hiking opportunities and natural beauty make it a highly recommended destination for camping enthusiasts.

First I'll start by saying the camp host were very good. Clean restrooms and good dry firewood available.
But the campground itself was a shambles with trees fallen all around. Small water puddles all around make superb breeding ground for the mosquitoes. There is supposed to be a trail around the lake, but it isn't maintained so it's blocked by fallen trees.
The lack of any water and none to be found for at least 8 miles makes this a campground we'll probably never visit again.

I’ve visited before and always love Takhlakh, but this time was subpar only because there was no water and at first I just that my memory had served me wrong but upon talking to other campers—who had camped there before too—they also thought potable drinking water had been at Takhlakh in years past. Wouldn’t have been a problem had we been prepared and brought more water. Bring lots of bug spray, it sure is buggy up there!

Camp hosts were great; friendly and attentive. We were camped right next to the outhouse and it was clean and fresh-smelling. The camp hosts cleaned it regularly. Nice quiet campground even though it was at 100% capacity (on a Friday night). Such a scenic campground; we spent the day on the lake in a kayak. Very busy since it was a weekend, but everybody there was considerate. The mosquitoes and black flies were fierce! We expected that and did our best to combat them, but decided to leave one night early. A lot of other campers did also. Ah, such is camping in the woods in July! Still a lot of fun; wanted to spend a day on the lake for a very long time and finally did it. Clear, blue skies and Mount Adams was gorgeous.
