Beautiful lake and views of Mt Adams. Clean camp site. Nice view of Mt Rainer from a short hike out of the camp. Surprisingly no water except from the lake. Friendly camp hosts. The gravel road leading into the park from the gorge was in fairly good shape, but the road leading NE from the park was more rough and difficult. We rode some of this with our gravel bikes.

One of the most beautiful places in Gifford Pinchot National Forest. My only complaint is the mosquitoes are unbearable.

Beautiful lake and great access to trails in the area. I would have liked to stay longer and explore more. The mosquitoes were pretty intense (and the camp host said they were better than they were the week before!). The camp hosts were wonderful and helped us out with getting our trailer in and around a couple of tricky spots.

We were pulling a 30 foot trailer and though the app offers a max length of trailer that would be appropriate (38 feet), the reality was that the site we selected barely fit our 30 feet. The campground road was not made for the trailer size so some corners were dicey. Just a heads up for anyone thinking about doing the same.

Lake is warm (normal pool temperature) during summertime - bring your swimsuits and floats! Also, bring lots of bug spray - while the mosquitoes won't get you on the actual lake, rest assured they will swarm you everywhere else. When I visit again, I plan to bring electric fly swatters. I saw lots of people with mosquito head nets, which is not a bad idea. Ideal camp spots are near the lake, and, the middle row. If you are located on the outer row (next to the forest), it's not bad, but there are bears. Came during the 4th of July weekend, and the rangers were active in alerting us to keeping our food in our car in case of bears. The closest town is Randle, about 28 mi away but the roads between Randle and the lake are pretty awful - you'll end up taking an hour or more avoiding all the bumps in the road. If you forget something, Fischer's market in Randle has everything - we bought sleeping bags, bug spray, and instant coffee.

It's a very beautiful place to stay, but it's was the worst comping experience in my life. We expected the life would not be easy without water, however, didn't expect the biggest issue coming from mosquitoes. There were too many mosquitoes everywhere, it's hard to stay outside of tent. We had to return earlier for buying after-bits.

Insane amount of Mosquitoes. It was so miserable you had to stay in your car. No amount of repellent or fire smoke will help. Many people leaving early.
