Takhlakh Lake Campground offers stunning scenery and a serene atmosphere, with clear waters and beautiful views of Mt. Adams. The scenery and location is absolutely beautiful! The forest road to get there is awful, take it slow! Fishing was wonderful, we all
easily caught our limit! We will be going back next year!

It is a beautifully located campground. Some sites are spacious and some are quite small. The host was wonderful - kept everything in order and clean and very friendly. We enjoyed nearby hikes and also lake activities. It is higher elevation so be prepared for cooler evenings.

First time here and really enjoyed it, stayed in #27. Only one mosquito bite all weekend and didn't even use any repellent, but also was not camping near the water. Nice campground, lots of families and kids. Unfortunately two younger couples arrived on Saturday in #26 and they were really loud and kept us up until 2:00 am until I finally crawled out of the tent and said something. VERY crowded in the day use area!! Otherwise, loved it and we will be back.

The only reason why I'm giving this a four-star review is because in the evenings the mosquitoes were pretty thick. Overall this campground was pretty quiet for the most part. Even on a busy weekend it was still laid back. The lake offers you the opportunity to launch your kayak or raft but no gas powered motors. This place also has vault toilets and garbage. The camp host was very polite and also had firewood for sale. Takhlakh Lake has a trail that goes around the entire lake that you can do in about a half hour's time. There's also a separate trail hikers can go on that leads up to a giant pile of lava rocks that you can see the forest and mountains from miles around. Another little nit pick, the road going up to Tahklakh Lake on the Oregon side. The road for the last 7-10 miles has a bunch of pot holes you can easily bottom out in if you drive too fast through there. Definitely not a road for cars that are close to the ground. Other than that and the bugs, I'd recommend Tahklakh Lake for a good 2-3 night stay.
