What Guests Are Saying
Takhlakh Lake Campground offers stunning scenery, with breathtaking views of Mt. Adams and a well-maintained lake. The hiking trails and campground facilities are generally clean, and the camp hosts receive praise for their friendliness and diligence. However, issues such as a lack of potable water, occasional overcrowding, and recent management challenges can detract from the experience, especially during peak times.

Very popular in summer when the weather is good. There are always a fair number of day users which keep the launch area crowded.... So we prefer the sites with a little distance. The camp hosts do a great job of keeping the vault toilets clean.

This is a great campground to stay at. The surroundings are spectacular, but to have only two 30 gallon trash cans to cover over 45 sites is ridiculous. If you’re having problems with dispersed campers dumping their garbage at campground, then deal with them, don’t penalize the folks who have paid to stay in the campground. This is a camp host decision sponsored by Rocky Mtn. Mgmt.

I was so impressed with this camp ground - the hosts were kind and kept the bathrooms clean and the lake was beautiful. We also had great neighbors! Really made our first camping trip as a family really nice!

Very nice spot, great view and lots of trees. Downside is how folks will park in campsites for day use and not leave room for those with reservations. Campers also have a bad habit to drive to the bathroom and block the road for 10-15 min. USFS could use some more folks to keep up on folks behaving badly. Despite stage 2 fire conditions many still with open flames, again if you want the lake to keep looking pretty with trees, crack down on those people not paying heed to the extreme fire conditions. If you have a site near the water, lock things up, people walk through your campsite.

Some sites are very small and top of neighbors. Others are lovely! Make note that all photos online (ie. Google Images) of the site maps are wrong- the vague spot this program at Recreation.com places sites (ie. lake side, or internal to the loops) is correct, but the best you’re gunna get in determining site placement.

Continues to be our favorite campground. Well maintained and absolutely gorgeous. Worth all the planning and time it takes us to get there.

Excellent hosts. Cleaned the bathrooms and emptied trash multiple times a day. Best smelling camp restrooms I’ve ever experienced! The grounds were clean and quiet. Let’s keep it that way!
