Lovely campground with lots of space at the sites. We were hesitant to go with our little trailer from previous reports if the Forest road conditions but it was ok. If you don’t want to bump along the whole way I recommend you go via the Randle area NOT Packwood. From Randle you only will have 6 miles of gravel as the rest is paved. I believe from Packwod it is all gravel. Several nice hikes from the campground and a few within 20 minute drive. Camp host was very helpful in general. Most people quite respectful and in general fairly quiet. Only one generator was heard and for the life of me I have no idea why you have to have your lights on in your trailer 12 hours a day. Most people had there dogs on leash and were at least responsive to leashing when asked. The lake is big and not too cold

Someone had already setup at the campsite I had reserved. The camp host was helpful, but I ended up having to track them down as they were hanging out at a different campsite with some friends. While they had left a campfire burning at my site! Anyway, it turns out that they had my site for the next night and decided to come a day early. They claimed that the sign at the campsite with information about it's availability was not updated when they showed up earlier, so they assumed that it was not reserved. Whatever. I ended up switching to another campsite that was available which was not nearly as nice. It was a pain.
Campground was packed and noisy. Pretty lake though!
