Walupt Lake is beautiful spot on the edge of the Goat Rocks Wilderness. Good opportunities for hiking and boating. Unfortunately, like far too many National Forest campgrounds, there is no longer water available at the campground. Let us hope a small amount of the infrastructure bill in congress will go to fix these problems.

We had a great time from 7-13-21 through 7-18-21. Beautiful weather, lots of mosquitoes. Lack of water is something that is easily planned for and the burn ban is totally understandable and expected these days. The lack of garbage service however was totally unexpected in that we did not see it posted anywhere on either Recreation.gov or the Gifford Pinchot National Forest sites. The garbage cans were out on Wednesday when we arrived but were picked up sometime the next day. Overall the facility is obviously being kept up very well by the camp hosts.

The campground was very quiet for such a large number of campsites. FS road 21 is a washboard nightmare. I recommend taking FS 23 out of Randle instead. A bit longer, but faster overall.
