What Guests Are Saying

Walupt Lake Campground is praised for its beautiful setting, well-maintained facilities, and opportunities for hiking, swimming, and fishing, making it a favorite for many campers. The campground is generally quiet, with spacious sites and clean bathrooms, enhancing the overall experience. However, some campers noted issues such as the absence of potable water, rough access roads, and occasional cleanliness concerns in the restrooms, along with a presence of mosquitoes and other insects.

We really like Walupt Lake CG and this beautful lake. However, the Forest Service needs to fix the pressurized potable water system or replace it by drilling a couple new wells and installing hand pumps like the Naches Basin campgrounds on the Okanogan-Wenatchee NF. More people would use this campground and stay longer if you provided potable water like you used to. Secure some of President Biden's infrastructure funding and get the well fixed!

The campground itself is fine. Standard campground and bathrooms scenario. I will however advise anyone who doesn’t have high clearance or solid suspension to think twice about staying. The road there is a 1 hour gravel road there poorly maintained in areas and tons of wash boarding. The roads horrible and long. It’s a great spot for hikers passing through on the PCTA but the drive just isn’t worth it. Plus lots of bees if you’re allergic.

#40 was a great place if you are looking for a spot near the water. It’s really close to #41 though, so if a couple of families want to camp together this would be a great spot for it.
