What Guests Are Saying
Goodell Creek Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained site located near the Skagit River, offering spacious campsites among large trees and easy access to water activities like rafting and fishing. Visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the vault toilets and the peaceful atmosphere, enhanced by the surrounding natural beauty. While some sites are close to the highway, creating occasional noise, most guests enjoy the serene environment and the convenience of nearby hiking and visitor center amenities.

The camp ground is rather primative (no hook ups, pit toilets) but what it lacks in amenities is made up for by the surrounding beauty. We had site 11, which had a trail down to the Skagit River. There we saw quite a lot of wildlife, especially in the evening. My kids (12 and 15) managed to cross Goodell Creek (dumps into the Skagit at the end of the campground) and found a wonderful swimming hole on the other side just before the creek dumps into the river. The water was cold, but very much welcome after a long hike.

Nice, small campground with spacious sites. Right between the river and highway but don’t hear traffic noise.

Great site! Loved that it was so close to the river and the trees were dense between the sites.

Beautiful campground with river access nearby. Our campsite (#17) was a bit small but it was perfect for 2 people .. maybe for larger groups it wouldn’t be the best option . Aside from that it was a great location :)

Great site right next to the river, but there was a bit of a drop-off to the water so it's not super safe for kids unless you keep a close watch on them. Tent pad was large enough for a 6 person tent. A big rock in the middle of the site pretty much prevents any other tents from being set up, so it's good for a single family. It was right next to the water spigot and close to the vault toilet. It is the closest site to the day use area and the associated beach/boat launch. I think site 18 is slightly better, it has a private water access.

Good campground that is close to a lot of great trailheads. This particular campsite is close to a busy road so you hear a lot of loud noise traffic, which is not very ideal for wilderness camping.

We stayed three nights at site 18. Our 20-foot camper and jeep fit with no issues. I liked that the site was open to the side of the camper instead of behind it. Sites 18 and 19 share an entrance but are secluded from other sites. Water at the driveway entrance, vaulted toilet, and dumper are close, but not so close that you smell them. You can hear street traffic in the morning, but it wasn't loud. You do have sandy beach access from the site. There is a trail to other side of the river where there are some beautiful trails. I was trying to decided between this campground and Newhalem and I would choose Goodell if you want quieter experience but Newhalem if you want more space for kids to bike and play.

Right along the Skagit River, it was white noise in the middle of the night. Nice new bathroom and an overall peaceful and quiet campground!
