The campground is beautiful, each spot has sufficient space not to feel on top of each other, and the bathrooms were kept clean and tidy. The falls are so much fun, and so close to camp. However, our camping trip was ruined by someone stealing our entire cooler filled with food on our very first night there. Never in my life had something like this happened to me before while camping. Had to spend an entire day heading to the nearest grocery store to re-stock, and being a single woman with children, I didn’t feel comfortable or safe for the rest of the trip.

We were there the week before the end of the season and enjoyed the campground with only a few neighbours. The sites were spacious and clean. The hiking paths were well marked and maintained. The scenery was fantastic. We viewed the lower, middle and upper falls and have taken with us many memories. Worth re-visiting.

The campground is beautiful, each spot has sufficient space not to feel on top of each other, and the bathrooms were kept clean and tidy. The falls are so much fun, and so close to camp. Unfortunately this park has been discovered and is now over run with way too many people. The bathrooms are unable to keep up and there is lots of garbage. I feel sorry for the rangers having to deal with all of the people that show up every day.

Beautiful, forested campground next to the lower falls of Washington State's Lewis River between Mt. St. Helen's and 12,000 foot Mt. Adams. Large campsites which, on the lower campground loop, are near the river and falls. A well maintained trail follows the river upstream to two more smaller falls. My wife and I have been camping for over 40 years in the western U.S., Alaska, British Columbia, the Yukon and across Canada to the maritime provinces and this is one of my favorite campgrounds.

Campground was nice and proximity to amazing falls was great. Services were poor however. We’ve camped at a lot of pot toilets and this one was by far the worse. Water was also a long way to pump.

Its a beautiful location. We have been camping at Lower Falls for over 30 years but what was once a peaceful, relaxing stay has become a mad house. I don't blame the rangers or hosts, it's just that the weekend visitors tend to be slobs. Broken up styrofoam coolers, used baby diaper, cans, loud music til 1 am, bottles and the list goes on. An international group of cliff divers were there, over 100 people not including the 100 or more day use visitors. Its a combination of Disneyland in August and a 21st century version of Woodstock. I believe if they did not allow weekend reservations but required a 5 night minimum stay and severely limited the day use it could become a great getaway as opposed to the frat house it has become. This review is not based on one year but on the last 6 years, I'm sad to say a great family tradition has come to an end.

From Portland or Seattle take I-5 to exit 21 for WA-503 E toward Woodland/Cougar. WA-503 will turn into FR 90, turn right at the Pine Creek Visitor Center. Lower Falls Campground will be on your right hand side after you pass mile marker 28 on FR 90.
Lower Falls Campground is accessible via I-5, taking exit 21 for WA-503 E. WA-503 transitions to FR 90 near the Pine Creek Visitor Center, leading directly to the campground.

- Bring your reservation confirmation to the campground.
- The campground opens in mid-May.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

- The road to the campground is rough; high clearance or 4WD vehicles are recommended.
Utilities
- No hookups are available at the campground.
- Electricity is not available, and cell phone reception is poor.
Fees & deposits
- The camping fee covers one vehicle and one towed vehicle; additional vehicles incur an $8.00/night fee.
Cancellation policy
- Failure to arrive by the next day incurs a $20 fee and forfeits the first night's fee.
Fires & fuel
- To protect forests, do not move firewood; obtain it near the campground.
