I really enjoyed this campground. An Army Corp of Engineers site, it was spacious, beautiful and private. I would recommend this location to families and folks without their families, as it's suitable for all groups. I only wish it was easier to locate AOC campgrounds across the USA. I've now stayed in several and they are all super!

Stuart Campground was a great find. The sites were well-distanced and private thanks to the prevalent mountain laurel. We had site 10 - the double site at the end of the loop. There were two tent pads and plenty of room for a 35' trailer. There were also two parking spots available next to the vault toilet. The only negatives were that the campground had no running water while we were there (although we received an email notification of this a couple days prior to our arrival) and there was some traffic noise from Route 33. I very highly recommend Stuart Campground!

We have been camping at Stuart for over 20 years the same time each year! This was by far the worst experience. The camp hosts did not keep the facilities up, despite the bathhouse being closed due to water pump failure (out of their control) the remainder restroom facilities were kept dirty and without toilet paper. When camp became without water we were not notified until that evening. Groups of 20+ ppl were allowed to come down into bath facilities from group camping at same time, taking away from park guests.
I hope when we return next year water pump issues will be resolved and park will be kept up to better standards like it has always been in the past.

My daughter's liked going for bike rides in the calm, peaceful campground. Everything was clean, and well taken care of. Definitely going to camp there again.

Each and every site is large and, for the most part, private.

Stuart REC area GS1. Grass was mown but not trimmed. Pit toilets did not look clean. Trash was only partially emptied one day. Our group was 19 people, quite a pile of trash by end of trip. Not very “bear aware”. Have stayed at this site 18 times over the last 20 years. Not very good service this time.
