This was the highlight of our three week trip. The campground and surrounding wilderness are remote and beautiful. Water and pit toilets available. Fresh apples growing in our site. Great views of the Milky Way. Mountain biking, kiki g and more. Download maps prior to arrival because the is no mobile coverage. We loved Spruce Knob.

Great, secluded campground with friendly staff. Lots of outdoor activities in the area. No cell service for 100 miles.

Beautiful campground surrounded by so many good hikes not far away. Seneca Creek and Rocks are easily accessible and have gorgeous views. Note that it is in a nationally recognized service dead zone (which to me is a plus) so plan mapping out your way home. The campground host, Rich, was amazing and super helpful. He was enjoyable to talk to and knew the area really well. 10/10 experience I will definitely be coming back, but next time to backpack.

Spruce Knob lake has always been our favorite campground. However, over the past two years things seem to be going slightly downhill. The campsites are in need of gravel and can be somewhat muddy. This year we never saw the host and we needed to pickup our firewood from near the rear of his campsite. However, the water was better and didnβt have a chlorine taste. The vault toilets were clean. Spruce Knob Lake continues though, to be a great place to get away and enjoy nature and unplug.

Great campground, with all sites wooded, and most looking level. I was at site 20, a βdouble siteβ, and it was nice, bur needs gravel. A little gravel would go a long way to have made this an 5vs 4 star rating. It is kinda damp site due to lots of trees, and the mud made for less than desired.
The lake is beautiful and a nice little hike around it. Plenty of other hiking in the area as well.
All in all, a great place I will return to.

Secluded campsites, clean bathrooms, friendly camp host. We will definitely be back. Excellent experience, even though we had at least 3β of rain while we were there.
