Love this place. Good fishing. Serenity. Great camp host. Feels like a home away from home.

Camp host did an excellent job. The overall appearance of the park was not as good as they were in the past. Grass needed to be mowed.

Always a beautiful place to relax and camp. Hosts are super friendly and maintain the facilities very well. Only issue we had, which we’ve never had any issues in all the years we’ve been going to Lake Sherwood, was that the trail and the campsites were extremely overgrown and handed been mowed or weeded in quite some time.

Due to Covid there was no host on site. Restrooms were not cleaned of dead bugs for 3 days. Can't raise the price to $20 a night for no electric/water site with nasty restrooms. Also the lake was in the process of being drained. Very bad weed problem and I presume they were hoping to freeze them out this winter.

Had my reservation cancelled due to CoVid and then to pump/water failure then something to do with the sewage. I missed my first camping trip in eleven years........so disappointed. And, I tried to call the park head quarters several times with pitiful results. Had to go to Facebook for information. Just gave up. But, joy of joys, I discovered Army Corps campgrounds! Almost like Sherwood but with complete hookups. I'll perhaps return to Sherwood someday provided the park officials wake up.

Lake Sherwood is a great plans to relax. The campground has over 100 camp sites, But there is no hookups for water or electric, So it's perfect for tent or small camper. The trail around the lake is a great walk, About 3 1/2 miles but mostly flat . Fishing is not so good unless you have a boat, plant's called Water Shield (like lilly pads) have overtaken the edge of the lake. But it's still a beautiful place to go enjoy nature in the mountains of West Virginia...
