Lake Sherwood Recreation Area is a complete family destination offering a wide variety of activities and camping options. Standard, tent-only and group camping facilities are perched along Lake Sherwood, the largest lake in the Monongahela National Forest. Swimming beaches, a picnic area, boat ramp and several hiking trails are among the features of the area.

Everything was good except site 97 was very difficult to get our camper out, I believe it should be tent only.

It would be nice to have group activities, for example bingo, evening movies, horseshoe competition, cornhole competition and such things as this. We were camping, just as a couple, with no other family, something like this would have been nice.

There was a water leak in one of the bathrooms, so apparently, the entire water system for the campground and beach house had to be shut down for a couple of days. Seems like cut-off values should be installed at each building to avoid this type of disruption.
Otherwise, this is a great place to spend a week or two. The lake and campground are great for families. It was great to see so many young families and groups with kids on bikes and at the beach.

From White Sulphur Springs, travel north on State Route 92 for 15 mi to Neola, West Virginia. Turn east (right) on State Route 14 and travel 11 mi to the lake.

Lake Sherwood is accessible via State Route 92, which connects to State Route 14. Both roads provide access to White Sulphur Springs and surrounding areas.
