Lake Sherwood Recreation Area is a complete family destination offering a wide variety of activities and camping options. Standard, tent-only and group camping facilities are perched along Lake Sherwood, the largest lake in the Monongahela National Forest. Swimming beaches, a picnic area, boat ramp and several hiking trails are among the features of the area.

Sherwood Lake staff do an amazing job of keeping the sites and restrooms clean. We were very pleased with our campsite. It was spacious, private, clean and there was even a short trail to the lake which made kayaking super easy. The staff were all very good at their jobs and the campground host was fantastic! I highly recommend staying here. Sherwood Lake Campground has renewed our faith that camping in a campground can be so enjoyable. Most places aren't as nice in my experience.

We had an excellent time. Great camp hosts, clean bathrooms and showers, the kayak rental shop was great too. The trail around the lake was great, the playground was great, the swimming beach was great. Recommend you bring your own drinking water.

This is my favorite place to camp and I was so glad to see that the concessionaire is doing a great job! The grounds, beach and campsite were well-maintained, the bathrooms were cleaned every morning, and the campsite host was friendly and informative.

Bath house was very clean. Grounds are well taken care of.

My only complaint is the firepit is missing the grate that was supposed to keep the wood from being near 2' from the top. The wood sits near 2' down from the top of the ring. If those firepits aren't going to be maintained, get rid of them. One has to stand right up on the firepit to feel any heat unless really excessive wood is used.

Always awesome at Sherwood Lake. The camp host, Robin, was awesome. First time in 4 years that host visited site. Also first time in 4 years there were activities. Suggestion....pick up trash more often.
