Monongahela National Forest is one of my favorite public lands to date. Lake Sherwood has great accommodations for tent campers, offering hot showers, private restrooms, & quiet campsites. Lake Sherwood is perfect for kayaking & swimming as no power equipment is allowed. Long hikes are plentiful up & down the surrounding mountains. Perfect trip!

Over 40 years of memories here. It is a joy to continue to share this camping experience with my children and husband. So peaceful.

We stayed the first week of August and it was beautiful weather! The shower houses were very clean and well stocked. On the other hand the vault bathrooms were clean and stocked but the toilets were disgusting! We were there for 9 days and the toilet itself never got cleaned ! Other than that everything else was very pleasant !

I’ve been coming to Sherwood for over 40 years and this past visit was probably the best. We went mushroom hunting, kayaking and swimming. With trip was extra special because we met up with life long friends. However I would like to see the beach groomed on the regular.

We love our 2 weeks of vacation at Lake Sherwood, from riding bikes, swimming, hiking, fishing, and making s'mores. It's a wonderful place to make memories!
West shore was in good shape this year with the Igo's taking care to make the sites were clean and mowed, and the bathhouses clean and stocked.
