Spectacle Lake Campground is a charming, small campground featuring a beautiful beach, clear lake water, and well-spaced campsites equipped with firepits and tables, fostering a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for families. Many campers appreciate the rustic setting and cleanliness, with some noting spacious, quiet lakeside sites and pleasant nature trails. However, concerns were raised about the reservation system, including issues with no-shows and noise disturbances from generators and late-night parties.

Was a good camping experience overall, sites are not very secluded though. Enjoyed the fishing- caught some largemouth bass- but were all pretty small fish. Saw lots of bluegill also- but none were worth keeping. Positive side of it was that we did catch fish. Good place to take youngsters fishing- they will catch fish if you use worms/ minnows. No dock or pier to launch boats. May visit again soon but will fish Kentuck Lake which is right near there- has better fishing for larger fish. Was plenty of firewood available if you like to collect your own- also some for sale. Was a lot of open sites available- campground was barely half full. Beach not really sandy- water was warm- not as clear as we thought it would be. Enjoyed it....

We have been going to this campground for many years.Almost 20. This was by far our worst experience to date. There were many large groups, with very large campers, which almost took over the public beach and partied quite loudly right up to quiet time. There were up to 6 boats that came from other parts of the lake to use the beach and party without having to pay. This is a fee area, if you use the beach you should have to pay. The bathrooms were only cleaned every 5 days, which with the large groups and during a pandemic I feel was no where near enough. When we arrived on Friday the garbage bins were over full. When we left 6 days later people were placing their garbage bags on the ground and animals had started spreading it all over. We had 3 more days left on our reservations but left early due to everything I have mentioned above. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!! On the plus side, all the picnic tables had been replaced .Last year ours was rotted through.

This is not the first time I have been to this campground but it has been 23 years and I wanted to go back one more time. The lake is so nice and clean and the sandy beach is fun for the kids to play in. Nice campsites, not too close together and a lot of trees between them...I just love this place. Thank you for having it.

We stayed at Spectacle Lake in a 23’ travel trailer and reserved a site on the lake. It was a spacious campsite with partial shade.
Our neighbors to either side of us were courteous, but loud, in that both of them had a lot of guests, partied, and ran generators all day.
This isn’t the park’s fault, however, and our stay was very relaxing and the park and lake are beautiful. Would stay here again.

It was a great place to stay. Very quiet and had alot of nice campers with lots of children. the location I reserved wasnt what I was wanting but it was ok. It would have been a better experience had we been on lakeside. The bathrooms could have stayed stocked a bit better but they weren't horrible.
