About Boot Lake Campground

Boot Lake Campground overlooks its namesake -- 263-acre Boot Lake. Bask in the sun on the beautiful beach and then take a relaxing dip in the lake, or enjoy the fishing. Boot Lake contains walleye, northern pike, bass, musky, and panfish. In addition, several nearby streams offer excellent trout fishing, and the Wolf River provides fishing, kayaking, rafting, and first-class canoeing opportunities. The Jones Spring Non-Motorized Area is nearby, and offers hiking, hunting, and cross-country skiing. Generally, use at this popular campground is heavy throughout the summer.

When we booked our reservation online, there was no mention that Boot Lake was under construction. We arrived to large machinery clearing out trees in campground sites, the road was torn up, some campsites had fire pits, picnic tables pushed aside. Our reserved site had fresh dirt poured but not rolled. It would have been a mess, so we found a different site that was available for use. Unfortunately, we paid for two sites - Site 11 which we reserved online and Site 15 which we paid for on site. We love Boot Lake, but were really disappointed we weren't informed about the construction. Machinery started up at 8 am each day and worked until about 4 pm. Not a quiet camping experience, except for the evenings.

Great site. Was mostly level enough to set up a large tent. Bathrooms were clean

We love boot lake campground. It is being renovated and should be even better when it is finished. A quiet place to enjoy nature, kayak, fish and sit on the beach.

Everything was wonderful, except the constant construction ALL FOUR DAYS! The next group of campers will have a wonderful time with the new campsites once the construction is complete.
