What Guests Are Saying
Boot Lake Campground is praised for its spacious campsites, beautiful natural setting, and clean facilities, making it a great spot for a quiet getaway. The location is conveniently close to town, yet maintains a serene atmosphere, with clear lake waters perfect for swimming. Some reviews highlighted concerns about uneven terrain, limited toilet facilities, and noise from generators, but overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and cleanliness.

Reserved campsite 16 and 17. Did not really get to use campsite 17 because large boulders were in the path of where we would have backed our camper into the site. We ended up setting up all the tents and camper on 16.
Left some items at campsite 17 and had them stolen; 4 propane tanks and some wood blocks we were using to stop our boat trailer from rolling.
Campsite 16 was very nice. Would probably like to use 16 again at a later time.

Boot lake is a beautiful and rustic campground. It will return to that state in the coming years. I am giving the campground a 5 and Recreation.gov a Zero....I thought the request for this review was a poor joke, showing how removed the Rec.gov is from the actual campgrounds. We stayed there when a massive tornado hit, it crippled the campground, people were trapped in vehicles, campers and tents were crushed by old growth pines. luckily and without comprehension no body was killed....to that point at no time did rangers/sheriffs come through the park to warn of the approaching storm was coming. Winds were sustained at 80 mph and gusts near 120 mph. We heard a static blip on a radio and barely made it to shelter at Phil's Hideaway. The campground was closed for the rest of the season, our car was totaled by falling trees...the scene was post-apocalyptic.
