Boulder Lake is a nice campground with nice wooded campsites. You can do water activities at the lake , hike and explore. Great for campers of all ages!

The camp hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Site #25 had easy access to the lake for my canoe, as did some other sites on the lake. The restrooms had flush toilets and showers with hot water. I will definitely go back. One thing to note is the trash/recycling area is on a one-way 'loop' after the RV waste/water stations, so when checking out on Sunday there was a long line of huge RV's backed up waiting to use it. I had to walk my trash in to where the bins were located. If I had known that, I would have brought my trash there earlier in the morning, before everyone started to leave.

The group sites are perfect for our car club. They are primitive but the shower house has water and electricity

We've been to numerous national campgrounds but this on was amazing. The host were as well. Stayed 4 days and loved every second of it. Will definitely be back. - Frank and Kelly

Campsites are well isolated from each other. Be careful going to the dump station as there’s a curb

What a great professionally managed park! The park host came by and explained the park amenities. Think on the way back to South Dakota I’ll spend a few days at this park.

From Townsend, travel Highway T for about 17 miles to the intersection with Highway W. Turn onto Highway W and continue just over a mile to Forest Road 2116. Turn right and continue to the campground.
Boulder Lake is accessible via Highway T and Highway W. Highway T connects to the area and provides a route to Highway W, which leads to the campground.
Elevation: 347 feet
20 mi drive to downtown Lakewood (about 25 min)

General
- Stagnant water can be found throughout the campground; bring insect repellent
- Each single occupancy site is allowed up to 8 persons and one vehicle. Should space allow at the campsite, three additional vehicles or towed units are allowed per site. If there is not enough space at the campsite for the additional vehicles or towed units, you must use the overflow parking.

- Don't move firewood: To limit the spread of invasive tree-killing pests, firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Some states have quarantines and may confiscate your firewood. - Privately owned ATV's, UTV's, and Golf Carts are not allowed to be operated within the campground.
