Chippewa Campground is highly praised for its peaceful, well-maintained environment, spacious and private sites, and excellent facilities, including clean bathrooms and showers. Many campers enjoy the variety of amenities, such as biking paths, a playground, and good fishing opportunities. While some guests noted challenges like bugs during wet conditions and difficulties with site accessibility, the overall sentiment is positive, with many planning to return year after year.

We were in site 49 in mid July with a 34 ft. 5th wheel and had a really hard time getting our rig into the spot. There are deep ditches on both sides of a narrow road with limited turning capability. Had it not been for the family camping directly across from us that was able to assist on all four corners of the vehicle we would not have been able to get setup. Once we got into camp it went a little smoother. The camp is extremely clean and all three camp hosts were very pleasant and helpful, to the point of loaning us a honey pot to dump with. We ultimately cut our trip short and moved camp to a private campground about 5 miles away - still on the lake - because of the bugs. The entire campground is set deep in the woods and there is no escaping the flies and mosquitoes that swarm every time you step outside. There was nothing wrong with the campground - the showers were old but in good shape and clean. Same for the bathrooms. Water was available and easily accessible, it was simply the level of bugs that finally did it for us. We moved to a campground on the lake but it was in an open field and voila, no bugs. If bugs donβt bug you then this campground will be fine and we would have stayed had it been September or October but it was mid July and they were having a heyday with us.

Beautiful Park, Campers we well-spaced apart. We only overnighted but would stay again.

The campground provided the barest of necessities. It was very disappointing. There was one women's toilet for the whole loop, and a pay shower. I mean one toilet...not one building. No soap or sanitizer and no way to dry our hands. There was a pay shower. The campsites were roomy and wooded, but not very level and there wasn't much vegetation shielding them from each other, so no privacy. The men's restroom also had one toilet and no urinal. Also a pay shower. The lake was shallow and weedy, and there was no way to access the lake without walking a long way. The fishing pier was ok, but it was in a very shallow weedy area as well. There was very iffy tv reception and spotty cell service. T-mobile doesn't work there at all. The fire pits were the best I've ever seen anywhere and the picnic tables looked new. The camp hosts were all very friendly and helpful.

This is a beautiful park. When we were there it was sparsely populated.

Site P39 (electric) was very well maintained. Short walk to water (flowage). Plenty of space and not too close to other sites. Plenty wooded! Could have had better signage for how to get to the two separate beaches and fishing pier. I wouldnβt necessarily call them βbeachesβ as there was no sand and you could tell they have not been maintained or up-kept in quiet some time. Quiet campground. Would definitely be back.

Beautiful with plenty of privacy. We had a site just a few steps (60 yds) from the water. Nice, new paved roads throughout. Well marked and easy to find. Host was always around but left us alone.
The only negative were all of the bath houses. One stall, one shower only. If you had to "go" or wanted to take a shower, depending on the time of day you're waiting. Nothing worse then a warm "t" seat :)

We enjoyed our time at the Chippewa campground and met some wonderful folks. The campground has a lot of potential but seems to be missing that wow factor that would make it a great place. Camp hosts were non existent broken toilets, uncollected garbage, less than clean showers. Seemed that there might be some long term, longer than allowed campers there as well

Very nice wooded campsites but we did have a bit of an issue backing into the campsites. We stayed in the Beaver loop sites 22 & 23. The road in this loop is narrow with ditches on the sides and the culverts on the edge of the road going into the campsites do not extend far enough past the entrance making it difficult to back your camper in without going off the culvert/driveway. So even though the site says it fits a 40-50 ft camper it is difficult to back in because of the limited space on the road and the length of the culverts. Bathrooms could use some upgrades but they were clean and you are camping so not a deal breaker.

We really like coming to this campground. The cost is very affordable and itβs a beautiful and well-maintained rustic campground in the woods.
