What Guests Are Saying
Grant River Campground offers spacious, well-maintained sites with stunning views of the Mississippi River and beautiful sunsets. I want to be clear the only reason I took it down a notch is to draw attention to the fact that if you're camping here you have to be prepared to listen to trains going by right next to the campground at multiple times during the day and night. Otherwise it's a very nice facility and well maintained with a beautiful view of the river. It was a great stop on our way back home to Indiana. And if you get a chance to go to the Potosi Restaurant and Brewery please give that a shot as it was very wonderful surprise as well.

A nice, clean, quiet, except for trains, campground along the Mississippi River.

This place is a gem. You do need to get over the fact that the trains do go through frequently - but you are right on the river and close to small town Wisconsin. Potosi is a cool little community.
We were on site 28 - I would state this isn't an ideal spot for a tent trailer as it is on the corner and the headlights hit the trailer with every car.
Great that there were concrete pads at almost every site along with electricity. Nice usable firepits.

Campsites are very close (within 100') of a heavily used freight train line. Large BNSF freight trains passed by the campground almost hourly all night long, using their horns to warn an unguarded crossing, literally shaking the ground much like an earthquake. Impossible to sleep through.

Great campground for watching sunsets and river traffic. Trains are close and loud. Your trailer will even shake!

Let me start off by saying the first experience was with the host. Very Rude and even asked (accused in my book) if I washed my vehicle. Someone complained. It was the people across from me. I wasn't even there a couple of hours. Everything I asked a question she was extremely rude! With comment like " You have been here several days don't you know that by now!"
Number 2.... I love trains and they normally don't bother me. But this was Nuts. Every 10 mins, one driver I think enjoys laying on the horn for 5 mins, and they would shake the concrete so bad you felt like you would fall thru. Oh yea 2 am, 3am. Doesn't matter. They stayed on the horns. So if you enjoy sleep..... Forget It!!!!!

Loved this clean, well cared for campground. We love trains, so the frequent BNSF trains passing through were great!
