Grant River Recreation Area is a very well kept campground. They are always making improvements. The last time we were there the east end of the campground had no concrete pads. They have since put in level pads which makes setting up very fast and easy. The wardens are constantly going through the park making it safe for all.

Grant River recreation area was clean and appeared well maintained. Easy access to water to fill the holding tank and the campsite was clean. Other than the train (which did not bother us) it was very quiet and the staff was very welcoming.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I even loved the trains! Beautiful scenery and well kept. Our first time on the Mississippi River! Hated leaving. We will be back!

Our family of 5 tent camped on an electric site. The site and the bathrooms are clean. The view of the Mississippi River were phenomenal. The campground is in close proximity to train tracks. We heard the train come by more than a dozen times between 10PM and 8AM.

Stay out of site 27 & 29 during the hot months. Not enough power to make it down the loop that far. We stayed and out surge protector kept shutting the camper down due to low voltage. 50 amp service and line 1 was 102 volts and line 2 was 104 volts each should be 120 volts. Talked to ranger and was told there was nothing they could do and was aware of the problem but still take your money to camp on those sites. Was told by the ranger he would talk to the higher ups and try to get us a refund but that never happened. All the other sites seem to be good because we camp here all the time. This is the first negative thing I have had to write about grant river.

On arrival, we noted that this COE park has scenic views of the Mississippi River. We had a back in site with 50amp service that also had a water hydrant nearby. When I plugged into the electrical post, I noted that line two had much lower volts but still acceptable. The next day the volts dropped lower than 104 and our surge protector did its job and disconnected power from the coach to prevent damage. I discussed this with park host, they stated that this has been an ongoing issue and recommended other sites for the remainder of or stay. We had no further issues with electrical. We enjoyed our stay and visited the Grotto and Potosi Brew pub. You do get used to the train noise quickly.

Great campsite, #12. Nice view of the river. Quiet campground, except many trains roll through during the day and night, blowing their whistles!
Very clean facilities.
Be sure to go in to the Petosi Brewery to eat! Excellent! Rode our bikes up to Petosi Point, and also up to the town of Petosi.
We kayaked from the boat dock in the campground along the river, both up and down. Felt safe doing so.
