What Guests Are Saying
Grant River Campground offers spacious, well-maintained sites with stunning views of the Mississippi River and beautiful sunsets. Visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities and the friendly atmosphere, as well as the proximity to charming towns like Potosi. However, the frequent train traffic nearby can be disruptive for some campers, especially at night.

Pros: Beautiful drive, great location on the river. Easy drives to visit Galena, Dubuque, and Balltown. Those were reasons we picked this park. Cons: Spots are fairly small and some a trick to get into if someone is across the "road/path". The prior occupants of our spot waited until exactly the 4:00 p.m. required time out, then dumped their fresh water tank on the concrete pad. There were a number of big barking dogs around us, and fires that were mostly smoke blowing toward us. Trains, fast and loud, about every 40 minutes all day and night.

The sunset over the Mississippi River was breath taking. Large well maintained sites with concrete pads. However the constant freight trains that seem to be more at night than during the day was to much, and we left early. And our cell service T-Mobile was at best one bar.

Wonderful area. The only downfall is a train runs right through the park. Not too bad if you're in an RV, but a tent would be no fun. I would recommend.

Sites are plenty spaced out and I like the concrete pads. The view of the river is beautiful. All-around great place to camp can’t go wrong.

Nice park with nice level sites. Only down fall was the multiple trains going by day and night.
Great value.

Very nice campground.. Clean,, and very quiet, EXPECT FOR THE TRAINS. Wonderful view of the Mississippi River. Not many trails, but a large camp ground to walk around. And,the town of Polosi, Wi. is very near by .

Camp sites have improvements every year. Campground is clean & well maintained.
However be aware there is a double track high speed railroad very close and they run day & night with horns blowing. Not a problem for me, but certainly will be for some people.

Great location and clean park. No firewood on site, but very quality roadside stop on the way into Potosi. The views of the Mississippi make up for the trains, which actually grow on you after a while - only two or three per night. Will be going back.
