Fantastic place to stay- quiet and serene. Away from major roads. Loads of birdsong in the mornings

If you like camping in the woods this is your place! I doubt there are any sunny camp sites in the main campgrounds. I’m a tent camper and looks for morning sunshine to help dry my tent before packing. If I was in a trailer I would have enjoyed the campgrounds. It has what appears to be all the things I like, flush toilets, Showers, space between the sites, clean, well maintained.
I solved my sunshine issue by pitching my tent in the equine (horse) campground. No one was there, I had the place to myself. Again clean, well maintained, pit toilets but I’m ok with that.
Seems to have lots of hiking trails to explore. Maybe next time.

Large wooded sites. Very poor internet coverage in lower numbered sites. Good coverage up the hill.

Very disappointed in campground location in comparison to the water/lake . We enjoy the water views and hikes - and look for the Army Corp. of Engineers campgrounds. The drive to get to the campground is High up BUT absolutely no view of the water , We are older and not capable of 6 mile hikes down the high embankments, and would have to drive several miles out of the way to get to the beach,. So - so disappointed in this Army Corp of Engineer campground. Left a day early - Why would we stay for full reservation . Book the Army Corp of Engineer book But crossing this one out permanently

Had trouble reserving a site online when we arrived. We went for a ride and thought we would try it again when we got back - someone was waiting for us to move and get out the site we were in. Very confusing.

I like how wooded the campground is so that you don't feel crowded in to the campers in the surrounding sites. We had beautiful fall weather when we stayed so that made it even better for enjoying a campfire.
