The area was clean the showers were great and well maintained. Our site
(23 Upper Loop) was perfect for hammock camping and had many sturdy trees around it.

Restrooms were disgusting. Camp hosts were friendly but did nothing to enforce quiet hours. Campers in adjacent site stayed up until 2am talking loud and were obviously intoxicated. The boat launch near the campground is a joke, just a single ramp with a dilapidated pier. Probably a good campground if you are in an RV so that you can't hear the other campers partying all night long and you don't have to use the filthy restrooms. I will never tent camp here again.

The site is nice and clean but not level so be warned. It's big enough for a travel trailer and 2 vehicles. Which was perfect for us since we stayed here to off road in Uwharrie and and our friends site wasn't big enough for their two vehicles they were able to park one at ours.
The bathrooms were clean but hot with no A/C and lots of spiders. But that didn't bother me. Very beautiful place with lots of trails nearby. I love how dog friendly this place is as well!

Very beautiful area of Central North Carolina, check out Troy, Seagrove with pottery shops, covered bridge. Once you get off main roads the national forest roads are really rough and I wish they would either grade them more often or pave them. The walking/biking trail around the campground is very nice.
