Loved this camp site. Close to Bear Lodge for dining, close to hiking trails and lakes. Campground was quite and restroom amenities clean.

Beautiful, quiet, & nicely spaced campsites set among tall pines, rock outcroppings, & the Tongue River. The campsites amenities were perfect, fire ring, barbecue, & extra large table. The vault toilets were exceptionally clean & well dispersed through the camp. Be prepared for no cell reception. The elevation is at least 8 thousand feet, so be ready for the winding steep drive up the mountain, breath-taking views await at every turn. The final leg to the campsite is a manageable gravel/dusty road. The Tongue River Canyon hike is a must, the most stunning vistas, start very early in the summer months, it gets hot, & the hike is strenuous at times, but absolutely rewarding. Big Horn National Forest is stunning!

We were looking to get away from noise, machines, and people. This campground was crowded with campers, RVs, and loud off road vehicles. On top of that, it seemed every trail that might have been a hiking trail around there was an ORV trail. No where to go for non machine people.

Quiet, beautiful forest on a beautiful river. Moose and moose calf. Fishing. Just lovely.

A well maintained campground with a very competent and friendly host. Sites are reasonably spaced out and all include firepit, grill and table.
Couple of negatives. It seems that campers from nearby Sheratin feel they need not follow the rules. Our reserved campsite was occupied well after checkout time and the attitude was, tough luck to us. Secondly, the "road" into the area has more ruts and potholes than road. Apparently there are no road graders, so plan on a 5-10 mph drive.

General
- The administering organization reserves the right to substitute sites without prior notice. Two non-towed vehicles allowed per site. The first vehicle is included in the basic fee; the second vehicle will be charged an extra $9.00 fee at the campground.
- Groups larger than 20 people must use a Day Use facility; Willow Park, Hettinger, Ranger Creek Recreation Area or Pine Island offer group camping
- Firewood bundles may be purchased from the campground host.

- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- Refunds: Refund requests made through www.recreation.gov will be charged a $10 processing fee. This fee is retained by the reservation service contractor along with the non-refundable reservation fee. All requests for the return of the non-refundable reservation fee and the cancellation fee will be declined by the campground concessionaire as they did not receive these fees (these are the fees retained by the reservation contractor, a different entity).
