About North Tongue
North Tongue Campground is located just off the Bighorn Scenic Byway (U.S. Highway 14) near the Burgess Junction at an elevation of 8.4 ft. The Bighorn National Forest offers a wide variety of activities, including hiking, fishing, scenic driving and a number of historic sites. We love this campground. I’ve been coming here every year for the last 20 years! Trails, creeks, fishing, and quiet.

The camp host had 3 dogs. One ran loose the whole time. Wandered through our campsite several times. The other 2 were tethered but very annoying if anyone walked up to the hosts site they sounded aggressive. I noticed several people just turned around and left.

Greeted by camp hostess. Found site clean and clear of debris even though wind was gusty and rainy. Facilities were clean and stocked. Had been at site 1 many times over the years but it had been a decade since my last visit. Memories were reenforced with this stay. Thank you!
