About Owen Creek
Owen Creek Campground is located along the Bighorn Scenic Byway (U.S. Highway 14) near the Burgess Overlook and Woodrock areas at an elevation of 8.4 ft. The Bighorn National Forest offers a wide variety of activities, including hiking, fishing, scenic driving and a number of historic sites. Very small campground, bathrooms are surprisingly very clean for a vault restroom. Several moose were walking right next to our spot. Drinking water was very good

The campground and area are beautiful. There were many animals in the area. Thae campground was clean and the sites were ready to be occupied. I will return in the future.

Site was raked and level with plenty of sunlight for solar. Camp host was pleasant and helpful, toilets were clean and stocked.
Owen Creek is easy access off highway with no highway noises!

Owen Creek campground was much quieter than it was in the past. Fewer ATVs this year. Had moose and a bear visit our camp site. Great time. We had Starlink with internet and wi-fi calling.

Getting There
From Dayton, Wyoming: Travel 27 mi on U.S. Highway 14 west, turn left (south) at Burgess Junction and continue on Hwy 14 for 5 mi until you reach Forest Road 236. Take a right on Forest Road 236 and continue about .2 mi to the campground.
Policies & Rules
General
- The administering organization reserves the right to substitute sites without prior notice
- Firewood bundles may be purchased from the campground host.
- Two non-towed vehicles allowed per site. The first vehicle is included in the basic fee; the second vehicle will be charged an extra $10.00 fee at the campground

- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- Refunds: Refund requests made through www.recreation.gov will be charged a $10 processing fee. This fee is retained by the reservation service contractor along with the non-refundable reservation fee. All requests for the return of the non-refundable reservation fee and the cancellation fee will be declined by the campground concessionaire as they did not receive these fees (these are the fees retained by the reservation contractor, a different entity).
