It was good except the campground was so crowded. We’ll have to find a pull out next camping trip just to have it quiet.

Visited in early June, not as crowded. Beautiful campsites, some by the Tongue River. Well managed, clean rest rooms. Plenty of time to see in the area. Also can visit medicine wheel.

The bathrooms were atrocious ~ they hadn't been swept out, cleaned the entire we were there and the last 2 days there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. The picnic table had not been wiped down before we got there and the site had paper laying around ~ very disappointed! Tie Flume is such a gorgeous area but we found it quite disappointing ~ the stool in the ladies room actually had feces on the back seat as well as under the cover ~ that is more than disgusting. It sure made our stay there frustrating to say the least. So very sad ~ I would suggest that the hosts be a bit more ready to clean the area!

We have camped here many times over the last 30 years. This was our first visit in about 7 years.
Campground and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Fire pit had a deep accumulation of wet ash and dirt making it difficult to start a good fire.
The biggest negative was noise. Many camps had ATVs/Side by Sides. They found it necessary to crank up the loud and annoying machines constantly. Drive to the bathroom. Drive to dump garbage. Drive to the campsite 200 feet away. Each time making a full loop around the campground so everyone could enjoy the noise.
Also, a couple irresponsible generator operators who felt they needed to crank up their generators at 7 AM.
Still a beautiful place, but don't expect a quiet getaway.
I hope the Forest Service will consider making a few campgrounds ATV / Side by Side / Motorcycle and generator free. We go camping to escape the noise and bustle of the city, really don't want to spend the time at camp listening to loud ohv's buzzing by every 10 minutes.

This was my second time at Tie Flume. I also stayed twice at Dead Swede, just down the road.
Have enjoyed every stay, even 2019 when we had snow on the first day of summer. The camp hosts are friendly and helpful and the campgrounds are laid out well.
Will go again next summer if my health holds out.

Sites were nice. Only drawback was the amount of ATV / off road vehicle traffic. It was quite noisy at times due to the amount of traffic on the road.

From Dayton, Wyoming: Travel 26.5 miles west on U.S. Highway 14 to Burgess Junction. Take a left and continue 5 miles south on U.S. Highway 14, then turn east (right) onto Forest Road 26. Travel about 2 miles to the junction with Forest Road 16, where the campground is located.
Elevation: 2553 feet

Policies & Rules
General
- The administering organization reserves the right to substitute sites without prior notice. Two non-towed vehicles allowed per site. The first vehicle is included in the basic fee; the second vehicle will be charged an extra $9.00 fee at the campground.
- Groups larger than 20 people must use a Day Use facility: Willow Park, Hettinger, Ranger Creek Recreation Area or Pine Island offer group camping
- Firewood bundles may be purchased from the campground host.

- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- Refunds: Refund requests made through www.recreation.gov will be charged a $10 processing fee. This fee is retained by the reservation service contractor along with the non-refundable reservation fee. All requests for the return of the non-refundable reservation fee and the cancellation fee will be declined by the campground concessionaire as they did not receive these fees (these are the fees retained by the reservation contractor, a different entity).
