Tie Flume

It is a great place to camp. A wonderful, caring host makes all the difference.

The weather was beautiful, just a little chilly at night. Used our side by side every day and set out on an adventure. Look forward to our July trip, at Noth Tongue. Our favorite place to camp.

One of our favorite campgrounds. Camp host was excellent--so clean, trash taken care of early every morning, went door to door to make sure everyone knew a bear had been in camp the night prior. Really did a great job-much appreciated. We were surprised by how many campsite sat empty but said they were reserved (both online and on the tags at the end of the campsites). It happened so much which was a shame. And there were A LOT. Like more than 6 every night. I'm sure other people would have loved to get in if those campers had cancelled teh reservation instead of holding it and never showing.

Vault toilets are clean and well-maintained. Nice trees for hammocking at this site.

This campground is well situated, next to the South Tongue River. Even when full, this CG doesn’t seem crowded.

We had to cancel the first 4 days of it because m husband is having back issues ! We were hoping to spend the last 9 days up there but on Saturday he said his back was worse ( he is scheduled for back surgery in August) it started snowing so we called the number on your reservation site was told that it would be up to the second party if we got a refund and it would be reviewed . Bo got a email stating that . Never heard another works fyom anybody . So basically we paid for that time and never used it !

Beautiful area

Toilets are clean. Host is friendly. Sites are clean.

Tie Flume is a wonderful campground. There are several sites just adjacent to the South Fork of the Tongue River. Restrooms were clean. Fire pit was clean, a few logs of wood were left on top the grill. There are several locations nearby to fish on the Tongue River. Bear Lodge is also just a few minutes down the road and you can get breakfast and a shower there! I highly recommend Tie Flume campground.

We had an enjoyable stay at Tie Flume. We tent camped at camp site #13. My only complaint was there was no really level spot to set up a tent. We could have used the pad itself, but I felt it would have been too close to the fire pit and the tent may have been damaged by flying sparks/ash. There had been snow over the days prior to our arrival and the ground was pretty wet even after a couple of sunny warm days. But, we made the best of it and it worked out. Lots of wild life around the camp ground area. In fact, we had a young bull moose wander right up to our camp site munching on moose munch (I guess). He was pretty content and didn't seem to pose a threat and eventually wandered off. Deer, rabbits, ground squirrels, chipmunks, any number of bird species constantly entertained us. We especially enjoyed the Grey Jays. Our neighbors respected the noise curfew, it was definitely quiet in the overnight hours.
