We were very unhappy with our stay at Stillwater. It is one of our favorite campgrounds...mostly because of how clean it is and the stream which runs through it. This time, however, we found a dirty campsite with garbage in the fire pit and cans left all over. The only time we saw a host was when my husband happened to see her on his way back from the bathroom and asked that she replenish the toilet paper. There was no water at the campground and we were made aware of that when we booked but it would have been nice to at least have a sign at the hosts campsite letting people know there was water available at Sulphur Creek.
It seems there must be a shortage of people willing to do the campground host job because we spoke to a man who got to his reserved spot at Christmas Meadows only to find someone in his site who absolutely refused to leave and no host to enforce his reservation.
If we are going to be charged full fees for these campgrounds they need to be better than the campsites that are NOT in a campground and there needs to be someone at the site who can help when there is a problem.

Beautiful location spots were clean as well as the bathroom. Just beware of bugs they got bad in the day. Will definitely be back!

This was a quiet, beautiful, basic campsite that backed up to the Stillwater Fork of the Bear River. It was well-maintained and shaded. The camp host, Ivan, was very friendly and helpful and the vault toilets were exceptionally clean and well-stocked. The spot we camped had no water, but it had a fire ring and nice picnic table. Water was available from a tap not far from us. It was delightful to sit in the evening and enjoy the river. There was no cell service for us from Verizon.

Stillwater Campground is about 1/3 mile from the Christmas Meadows road, with access to many trails and fishing spots. It is also about 33 miles from Evanston, WY, for shopping and other services.

I highly recommend it, and would definitely stay there again!
