What Guests Are Saying
Gros Ventre Campground offers a convenient location near the Grand Tetons, with clean facilities, well-marked sites, and friendly staff. Visitors appreciate the ample space for camping, wildlife sightings, and ranger programs. However, some guests have reported issues with ADA site accessibility, noisy neighbors, and a lack of showers. Overall, it remains a popular choice for its beautiful setting and amenities.

Gorgeous peaceful location. This is a campground for purists as there are few sites with electric, most have no hook-ups. Great views of mountains and uncluttered vistas. Just lovely!

Gros Ventre was our favorite campground of our 2 week adventure which also included Colter Bay and Signal Mountain. The location was ideal, right in the middle of our excursions. There were moose sightings every morning (2nd week of September). The bathrooms were clean and very close to this site. Lots of room between sites and site was level. Although there are no showers, honestly, the Signal Mountain pay showers were so disgusting we wished we had skipped them. Gros Ventre was the only campground with a Tmobile signal. As we left 4 dogs and 2 cats back at home, the ability to be reached was kind of important to us. Signal Mountain and Colter Bay had NO reception unless you were sitting in one of the buildings. Beautiful place!

Site 365, Loop G is in close proximity with neighboring sites, as it is in the middle of the loop, but we had no issues with noise. All other guests were respectful of the shared space. There is a small walking path to the toilets (easy to navigate). Would recommend Gros Ventre as a campground on your way into or out of the National Park. it is a bit of a drive to get into the park but was a perfect staging area for us as we got settled. Lots of wildlife to experience - we were there in the season that moose are a regular sight and had 4 walk right through the camp. This camping spot easily accommodates parking for 2 SUVs and comfortably fits 2 tents (3p and 2p, but could've been larger). Each evening there is a ranger program - highly recommend to future guests. The check in office had ice and firewood for sale. Mormon Row (with the old homesteading barns) is a short drive and easy to visit with a family. We have T-mobile and had full cell coverage the entire time at Gros Ventre CG.

Well run campground with nicely spaced sites.
If there wasn’t so much smoke from a wildfire, we would have had an excellent view of thevTetns.
We did see a adult male moose with full rack walking through the campground.

We arrived on Saturday September 6th, w/o reservations and even though the website and signs at the entrance to the campgrounds said the campground was full, a very nice and obliging NFS employee found a spot for us for two nights! Not the same spot each night, but with my newly renovated camper van RV it was not a problem what so ever to leave for a day hike on Sunday and return to a different spot the next day. GREAT bull moose sighting only a half mile from Gros Vente!

It's a little crowded but people were friendly and considerate. good place to get a spot and then explore the area. Restrooms were kept clean. Ranger presentations every night are interesting.
