The creek through the site is enjoyable for all.

It was really pretty here! Not a large campground but plenty of space between sites. Creek nearby. Be aware of moose! We saw two cows come into our camp one evening and a bull moose walked through the next morning! A nice hiking trail nearby with tons of wildflowers!

This area has a few camp sites, so reserve early or take a chance that one will be available. Our site backed up to Shell Creek and we could walk down to the creek to experience the water. A moose visited two days in a row. The pit toilets are far enough away you don't smell them. According to the Forest Service, these toilets are only pumped out once a year. There is a trail for ATVs right there, but far enough away to not be noisy. The whole area is green and peaceful, a perfect place to camp.

Located 34 miles east of Greybull, Wyoming on U.S. Highway 14. Turn off onto Paintrock Lake Road (Forest Road 17). Ranger Creek Campground is 3.5 miles from the turnoff, 2 miles beyond Shell Creek Campground.
Ranger Creek Recreation Area is accessible via U.S. Highway 14, located 34 miles west of Greybull, Wyoming.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Site types & loops
- Campsites 9, 10, and 11 are designated for group use and can also be utilized for day use at the same rate as overnight camping.
Vehicles & parking
- The organization may substitute sites without notice. Each site allows two vehicles, with a fee for the second vehicle.
Fires & fuel
- Firewood is available for purchase from the campground host.
- To prevent the spread of pests, obtain firewood locally and burn it on-site.
