What Guests Are Saying

Ranger Creek Recreation Area offers a friendly camp host and an ideal location with beautiful green surroundings and access to Shell Creek, making it a nice campground for nature lovers. However, it can be noisy due to nearby four-wheelers and speeding vehicles, and some campers reported issues with the camp host's attitude and reservation management. Overall, early reservations are recommended to secure a spot in this picturesque area.

If you’re into peace and quiet, then this is not the best spot. Four wheelers and speeding vehicles most of the day.

This area has a few camp sites, so reserve early or take a chance that one will be available. Our site backed up to Shell Creek and we could walk down to the creek to experience the water. A moose visited two days in a row. The pit toilets are far enough away you don't smell them. According to the Forest Service, these toilets are only pumped out once a year. There is a trail for ATVs right there, but far enough away to not be noisy. The whole area is green and peaceful, a perfect place to camp.

Absolutely terrible camp host. Purposefully lied and over booked our campsite. Camp host has a terrible attitude and tried to incite a physical altercation. Even the forrest service employees agreed that he is a person that is very difficult to deal with. Really ruined a good family vacation tradition and experience.

Everything was great with the exception of the previous days camper in our spot did not leave on time so we had to sit around and wait to get set up in our site.
