What Guests Are Saying

Ranger Creek Recreation Area offers a friendly camp host and an ideal location with beautiful green surroundings and access to Shell Creek, making it a nice campground for nature lovers. However, it can be noisy due to nearby four-wheelers and speeding vehicles, and some campers reported issues with the camp host's attitude and reservation management. Overall, early reservations are recommended to secure a spot in this picturesque area.

We loved this spot, nestled in amongst the trees and Shell Creek. It's an opportunity to really commune with nature - whether you are an avid fisherman, bird watcher, or just want to listen to the sounds of nature. Oh, and the moose sighting was a pleasant surprise. Though spending the night under the stars only 5 feet from a friends tent was a bit unnerving. He just grunted every once and a while to remind us all that this was HIS home.

You can't go wrong boondocking in this lovely area. So many things to see and do.

We had so much fun exploring the banks of the river. Dave, the camp host, and his wife were very friendly and helpful as well.
