About Indian Creek Campground (WY)

Located about eight miles (13 km) south of Mammoth Hot Springs on the road to Norris, Indian Creek Campground—elevation 7,300 feet (2225 m)—sits near the base of the Gallatin Mountains and offers breathtaking views of Electric Peak. The area offers easy access to fishing and hiking. The campground is away from the main road and provides a quieter, more primitive, experience than many other locations.  For reservations at the campgrounds managed by Yellowstone National Park Lodges (Fishing Bridge RV Park, Bridge Bay, Canyon, Madison, and Grant Village campgrounds), please visit the Yellowstone National Park Lodges website.

We loved our stay here! Peaceful, quiet, access to Lamar Valley and hiking trails right from camp. The sound of the creek sang us to sleep. A few bison crossed the creek and wandered into the campground every day and it was amazing to see them. The only downside to our spot was people driving in to use the restroom — traffic noise and car doors banging.

Perfect location in the northwest portion of the park. We are very glad that is was open. We cancelled a stay at a campsite way down in the south of Yellowstone once we saw that spots in Indian Creek had opened up. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was cold in a tent though! Take plenty of blankets or have a very warm sleeping bag.

We were very happy with our stay, the camp hosts were very friendly and the bathrooms were some of the cleanest we have seen in Yellowstone. Would have loved to stay longer! No generators were a plus for us.

We stayed at site 61. This campsite is clean and well maintained. Very close to water and restrooms. Camp hosts were very helpful and ensured we had a good stay and the campground were quiet and relaxing. We had a couple of deer and bison roam through. There is no cell service.
