What Guests Are Saying

Mammoth Campground offers clean facilities, friendly staff, and a beautiful location near Mammoth Hot Springs, making it an excellent base for exploring Yellowstone. Many reviews highlight the well-maintained bathrooms and accessible water spigots, as well as the stunning views and quiet atmosphere. However, some campers noted a lack of shade, noise from nearby traffic, and limited trail access, but overall, the campground is highly recommended for its amenities and scenic surroundings.

The staff at Yellowstone National Park, especially Mammoth Campgrounds, the Albright Visitor Center, etc. are so unbelievably rude, unprofessional and disengaged until I would not recommend this park to anyone until it is under new management.

We stayed at site 24, and it was great. It was the only campsite on the little road that went off to the side of the one lane road. It was quiet and peaceful and there was a great view of the mountains. I would love to stay here again!

We found the campsite prepared and the camp hosts friendly and helpful. When our dog jumped out the door of our rig the first morning, it was all hands on deck to earnestly assist us in immediately retrieving him, park rangers included. (The Park Service staff has a great communication system for exactly this scenario.) Our entire stay was great.

NPS has significantly cut services back! Toilets were not cleaned regularly enough, no enforcement of rules or courtesies; several campers got in disagreements resulting in car horns between 430am and 7am when they left blaring their horn through the entire campground as they drove off. The ranger just watch and did nothing to enforce quiet hours (BIG SIGN AT ENTRANCE LISTING QUIET HOURS AND FINES).

Nice campground just outside town. All sites are pull throughs. Good open views. Only a few sites have a good spot for a tent.
