This was our first time staying at a Corp of Engineers campsite and we experienced no issues. The park attendants were nice and helpful. We stayed in site 58 on Shady Loop and it was shady (which was good) with a sewer hookup. This is a great place to go if you want quite and peaceful. Access to the lake was close by and I wished we had a boat or jet skis to add to the fun. We agree with other users who write that you need ant spray or powder as the ants get into everything if you don't use it. The bath houses were clean. We look forward to our next trip.

Sites needed debris blown off, grass needed to be cut, fish cleaning building needed to be cleaned. The cleaning contractor's truck was seen just driving around not doing anything productive. This was all the week before a major holiday. These issues were also noticed on our trip before this one.

The place was infested with sugar 🐜 ants that got into our RV within a few hours of being at the site. We left the next day because when someone/a family goes on vacation or a short trip, they shouldn’t have to deal with such a disruptive distraction. We were told to go buy “COMET” to sprinkle around the RV…..not good at all. Something drastic needs to be done.

We were bothered so much by the staff there that we ended up leaving and going to the State Park where they let you enjoy your camping stay. This was by far our worst camping experience ever. We will never go back here. This was also our first time camping at a Recreation.gov park so it has me questioning if they are all this bad. They definitely need to have a major conversation with the staff.

Beautiful sandy beach area for swimming. Some lots have full hookups. Be sure to have ant poison liquid and granular

Our site was great the whole place was very well kept. The employees were very friendly. The only problem was the ants, ant were on everything and everywhere. Don’t know what they can do about that. The morning we were leaving the electricity was turned off without prior notice. We did get a call about the time it went off and we were told they were doing repairs. Wish they would have given us notice the day before.
We had a great time and will definitely go back.
