The campground host was Excellent, helping me back into a difficult spot. The bathhouse was the most beautiful outside and in that I have ever seen - ACE designed? The only caveat is that ‘no cell service’ is an understatement. For first time ever got a ‘SOS only’ message! But 1-2 miles out you can get a signal.

Off the beaten path so bring what you need with you. Nice concrete pads. Sites 1-8 on water and rest on creek. All are very nice. Shower house in loop on creek, only toilets near waterfront sites. Staff very friendly and helpful. Gate code for Campground loops. 3 fishing piers, swim area, boat ramp and play area in day use and camp loop on creek. Water and electricity. Dump station.

We really enjoyed our stay at Burchfield! We were in site 4 on our way out to Texas with our grandson. Although the site was a bit tight with slide-outs, the site was well worth the maneuvering! The view of the lake was absolutely beautiful!!! On our way back to Virginia, my wife and I were in site 7. My wife said it best…, “when you think about the ideal camping experience, this is what should come to mind…”! Thank you for a wonderful camping experience!! Doug & Jo Maume

We love Burchfield, it’s one of our go to places when we want to get away for the weekend. Host are friendly, bathrooms are pristine, and grounds are kept up.

Nice campground if you want to do nothing. Or, if you want to do what we did, which was use this campground as a place to decompress and clean up our camper after a 7-week road trip. No cell service, fyi. Not that we needed it, but not comfortable being unreachable by family.

The campground was beautiful and the hosts were so nice. My son, my daughter, my granddaughter and myself caught some huge hybrids. The trip was wonderful!!

Campsite was clean. The park is well maintained even in late fall. The Corp of Engineers campsites are some of the best around.
