What Guests Are Saying
Chilatchee Creek is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained campsites, and friendly hosts, particularly Kim, who is noted for her helpfulness. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful views and ample space for privacy, making it a hidden gem for campers. While access involves a mile-long dirt road and cell reception is poor, these factors do not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

This place is a diamond in the rough! It is absolutely gorgeous! Clean bathrooms, well-maintained sites, and friendly camp host.
My only complaint is that the camp host lets his dog roam around freely. He's a friendly little thing, but when you travel with dogs (like we do) and this little guy thinks the whole campsite is his territory, things can escalate quickly. One of the other campers scooped him up and delivered him back to the camp host after an altercation with his own dog.
If you go, try to get spot #23. It has a private deck, not on the water, but WORTH it! If you can get a spot on the water, you won't be disappointed. The view is incredible. This is probably our favorite campsite so far.
Just be prepared for a long drive if you need supplies. The closest town is Camden, which is about a 45 minute drive and has limited options. Selma isn't much further away (about an hour drive) and has more options.

Campsite 11 was great, unfortunately it appeared a large oak tree had to be removed because of storm damage. It would have provided additional shade from the 92 degree heat. If we were to do it over again for warm weather tent camping, site 12 would've been an excellent choice for optimal shade. All in all, we loved the campground and would return for a future visit.
