What Guests Are Saying
The cabins in the White Mountains National Recreation Area are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering great amenities in a beautiful setting. The opportunities we have to be able to go into the White Mountains and use the recreational use shelters and cabins is such a wonderful way to experience the beauty of Alaska!

Had a great Holiday Weekend. Too Bad The Online system never let me print permits. What a waste of money on booking fees that I never had to pay when booking in person or over the phone. I severely dislike the new booking system.

This is a lovely cabin, and the trails were in good shape. There was no surplus of wood so if you are on a snowmachine consider bringing wood from somewhere else. FYI to the BLM caretakers, the axe and saws are dull. The top hinge pin of the door of the wood stove is broken and the door tries to fall off when you open it. It is nicely appointed with a lantern and a cooking stove, that both run on Coleman gas cannisters. Very cozy and comfortable and great views. Thanks to everyone who works hard to keep it nice! :)

Be careful on skis with some areas of overflow, wood was stocked and we were sure happy as it was -18F when we arrived with a strong NE wind.

There was wood split and inside when we arrived. It was -25 degrees F so we needed a fire quickly! It was clean, well maintained, good lantern and stove, and a stockpile of wood. We stayed warm and had fun. The trail report said the trail to Windy Gap cabin had not been broken, but it had been and 3 of us rode there one day and back. Outhouse was in good order. Recommend bringing propane cylinders and mantles for the lantern. Trail was bumpy and drifted, but certainly passable
