White Mountains cabins never dissappoint. Cache Mountain was no exception to that. If you can hack rustic and remote, and can bring what you need to be successful you'll have a great time. Both lanterns were beat up pretty badly, but we had our own. Otherwise, accomodations were up to our expectations.

Excellent trailhead (McKay Creek), trail, and cabin! We cut a bunch of firewood and left, but others should also try to do the same. The wind howled all night long, but we still stayed warm. Thank you.
Please build more cabins in the White Mountains.

The cabin experience was great. Keep track of the weather, Facebook BLM, and public trail reports, and sometimes worth calling the staff that grooms the trail for a detailed report.

Three groomers preceded me on the trail, so that was extremely appreciated, but it would have been excellent even without that. My only recommendation would be for everyone to bring their own hand saw, as the resident tools are too dull to use. And toilet paper.....

It took 10 hours to get to the cabin ,via the white mountain trail. There was no firewood and the wood stove needs rope to seal the door for more even heat. Otherwise the country is beautiful and enjoy being there.

Fantastic cabin, stayed warm extremely long, even in cold weather. We were up looking for Caribou in the Forty-Mile White Mountains herd. Although we were unsuccessful, the cabin made the trip much more enjoyable. There was a propane stove, lantern, pots, and a woodstove. It was tidy and delightful! What's more, it snowed the first day of our three night stay, and a plow truck had cleared the access all the way to the cabin by the second day!
