We had a great time in the White Mountains! The cabin was really nice: it was clean, there was enough firewood and everything worked. We were at Windy Gap - when you go there bring a small pot - there was only a really big one and three pans. A second lantern might be also good and also some extra gas mantles (the long ones!).
Really great was the trail quality - we were there Dec 27th 2022 - the weather conditions in the weeks and days prior to our trip were special but the trail crews did an awesome job - thanks a lot guys!!!
Overall a great experience - anytime again!!!!

Richard's Cabin is great--a big cabin with a really good woodstove that can fit longish logs. The trail was in pretty good shape and well marked. BLM made a nice diversion around the open water right near the cabin. Saw awesome northern lights when we were there. Don't forget to bring firewood or a saw, and it is DARK in that cabin in mid-winter. Good idea to bring some lights or fuel for the lanterns.

Love Lee's! It's so easy with the Coleman stove, foam pads, and propane lamp already there. Cabin is super well built, and so easy to get to. Thanks to the Rec Area for maintaining the cabins so well!

Excellent location and a great space. There is no cell reception and no sign for the turn off the highway so be sure to pay attention to mile markers.

Awesome trip into Eleazars cabin to spend a few days/nights for my birthday. Great company and laughs. Even with one snowmachine making it all the way to the cabin towing a trailer and then having to be towed all the way back to the trailhead. Wood shed wasn’t very well stocked from previous users/passers by but expected that and brought a chainsaw to restock better while we were there. Great Northern Lights show one night too. Always a great time in the White Mountains!

Did a 3-day, 2-night ski trip in the White Mountains, staying at Lee's Cabin and Moose Creek Cabin. Had a terrific time, as usual. Weather was great; sunny and in the 20s above - a best-case scenario.
- Lee's Cabin: It's the most-used cabin in the Whites, and you can tell. The door is a little hard to shut and one of the tongue-and-groove boards on the inside of it is rubbing on the threshold, making it a little sticky to open and close. There's a very noticeable air gap to the outside through a crack at the top of the corner behind the wood stove. The wood stove burns hot even with the damper fully closed (which is less of an issue than it would be if the crack didn't exist). BUT: The community is very good about taking care of each other - there was plenty of wood (!), which we didn't need because we hauled our own in. All the amenities (Coleman stove, axe, saw, lantern, etc.) were present and in good working order. The outhouse had toilet paper. Lee's feels like the old coat you still wear all the time: showing its age, but comfy, familiar and just what you need.
- Moose Creek Cabin: So good. Relatively new, great views, holds heat really well, wood stove works great, abundant wood from the surrounding burn, just terrific. We'll definitely be back.

Nice roomy cabin with plenty of firewood in the vicinity to add to what we brought, and to get ready for the next cabin users.
