What Guests Are Saying
Rose Canyon Campground in the scenic "Red Rocks" of Southern Utah is a well-maintained and beautiful location, ideal for camping near Bryce Canyon NP. Campers praise the cleanliness, friendly staff, and great fishing opportunities, with many highlighting the spacious, private sites and enjoyable hiking trails. While some minor issues like road conditions and a few camp host interactions were noted, the overall experience is positive, making it a recommended spot for both relaxation and outdoor activities.

Very quiet site (except for the sounds of the highway in the near distance). Site is very private... didn't see or hear from anyone the entire time I was there (not even a visit from any hosts). Good distance away from the lake, so I didn't seem to attract any mosquitoes til the last morning I was there. Trees are well-distanced apart...perfect for my hammock. The bear box, fire-ring, and cement picnic table were clean and ready-to-use. It is QUITE a distance away from the parking spot, so if you have anything heavy to bring, you'll be trekking it up a very rough "pathway" chock full of sand, rocks, branches, and steep inclines. I was camping alone and was able to bring everything up by myself, but yes, as the site description states, it may not be suitable for older people nor for tiny humans. Overall, a great private site with enough shade and views to make for a happy camping experience. My dog enjoyed it too.

great lake trout - 14" to 16". Rich red meat. Made a GREAT dinner. Camp restroom was very clean. Beautiful weather. We'll be back.

We went the days after Memorial Day. It was clean and quiet. The lake was low. But, that's expected. Nice weather for hiking.

Pros:
-I went during the middle of the week, and there was almost nobody there. I could see campers at two other spots from my tent, and they were both at least a couple hundred feet away.
-Quiet
-No cell service
-Stunning surroundings
-Clean site
-Clean bathroom
-30 degrees cooler than Phoenix!
-There’s a lake. I didn’t go to it, but I’m sure many would love it!
Cons
-Couldn’t find the camp host, and they didn’t answer when I called a few days before my trip.
-Limited places to set up the tent
-My site was pretty close to another. Had it been during a busier time, this might have had less privacy than I wanted. As it was, this wasn’t an issue.
Overall Thoughts
I’d stay here again, without a doubt, though I might look for a different site to set up camp. It’s more of a 4.5/5 than a 5/5…still excellent, though.

Beautiful well spaced sites on lovely Mount Lemmon high above the desert heat. Vault toilets were clean. Camp host sold firewood - an increasingly rare amenity. No recycling.

Great camping in the area, away from all bugs you will encounter in the Saguaro park. Convenient parking spots, water is available. Night temperature was ideal to sleep in tent, middl of May.

Site#48 our first time at this site after many years coming here. This site is our new favorite! The only negative thing was when we arrived we drove through around the top past the other sites the trailer at #50 was parked partially on the road and I had to maneuver past the trailer and the tree on the other side of the road with inches to spare.
The sites were all clean and the restroom was spotless. Overall a wonderful experience. One question, if we needed to contact someone for a problem at night what can we do? I saw no camp hosts or Deputies as in the past.
We appreciate this campground very much.
Thank you
