What Guests Are Saying
Black Canyon Rim Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting that creates a dispersed camping feel, with well-maintained sites, clean bathrooms, and friendly hosts. Many campers praised the ample tree cover, potable water access, and the overall cleanliness of the campground. While the road to the site could use improvement and some noise from nearby off-road vehicles was noted, the positive atmosphere and helpful camp hosts make it a highly recommended destination for future visits.

I really liked this campground. Especially the camp host.
I cannot wait until I can camp here again.

Ms.Pat camp host came up to our campsite to harass us and discriminate us! She heard us speaking Spanish and demanded we stop because it’s the United States of America. For a veteran like myself and others in the group that was such a disgrace. We are not against Ms. Pat or anyone voicing what they feel but what I do have a problem with is people like Ms. Pat telling others what they can and can’t do with their freedom. I documented her saying all those disgusting things to us in front of our children. Ended our trip with her pretty much kicking us out “her” camp ground. It’s a shame because I see other positive comments about her here but that was not our experience with her unfortunately.

Camp host, Pat, was great. When she ran out of firewood, she offered a can of propane to save breakfast!
I would go back, but would choose to be further away from the dirt trail - lots of dune buggies and ATVs kicking up dust throughout the day.

The ranger was very kind, and the place and the weather nice.

If you want to get yelled at by a campground host on a power trip camp here. The campground host was speeding through the campground in her pickup and yelled at us as soon as we arrived didnt even bother to talk to us in a civilized manner. She scared our young children just because we didn't check-in when nobody was around and we had already reserved online. Due to COVID, checkin "rules" seem different at every campground. We were very disappointed by the lack of professionalism by the host at this campground! We have never felt so disrespected and belittled for no reason. There is only one restroom towards at the front of the campground which makes for a long walk at night. Black Canyon Lake is amazing aside from the disguising bathrooms and well worth the drive just don't camp here!

We had a great time. Pat the camp host was wonderful. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. We went during the week and there were only two other campers there. Be care full if you bring your dogs. One of ours almost got sprayed by a Skunk.

The dust off the side road was awful. The rails and buggies ran all day and at deadly speeds. At the high speeds blankets of fine dust would float over to our, and all our camping neighbor sites.

We had a lovely weekend tent stay and took advantage of the lovely weather and went for a swim and hike in and around Black Canyon Lake. We saw at least a dozen wild horses there playing in the mud and galloping around the lake. Our children had a fabulous time swimming from short to the little island in the middle and playing Survivor. Highly recommend the campground, but did have to do a bit of bee swatting near food and trash. Beware with Verizon we didn’t have signal most of the trip which is nice for camping anyhow.

My new favorite campground. The sites are well spread out, the area is beautiful, and the host Pat was wonderful.

This was a really great little campground. The site we stayed at was far enough from other sites that it felt private. The camp host, Pat, was amazing and kind. She did well to patrol without being invasive or “overbearing.” She did an outstanding job keeping the campground clean and inviting. Everyone was pretty quiet, which was what we were really looking for this trip! Cell service spotty at best, but was great to have solid honest reason to not get sucked into work for 4 days. For non dispersed camping, we’ll definitely be back and hope to see Pat in 2021!
