What Guests Are Saying
Mogollon Campground receives high praise for its friendly and attentive hosts, well-maintained facilities, and convenient location near scenic trails and Woods Canyon Lake. Campers appreciate the clean bathrooms, spacious sites, and the peaceful atmosphere, especially during the week. Some minor concerns include rocky ground making tent setup challenging and occasional noise from nearby roads and other campers, but overall, visitors express a strong desire to return.

The camp host was amazing and you can tell they take pride in their work. Short hike to the rim with gorgeous views.

Some campsites are fairly close to one another, but it’s easy to find/well marked.

We had a great two-day camping trip with five of us staying at Site 14, which was conveniently located near the restroom. The campsite host, Beth, was super nice and funny, and we appreciated her cleaning the restrooms at 6:30 a.m. sharp.
We arrived on a Saturday when the campsite was full, and unfortunately, one camper had a generator running for about 30 minutes late at night, which was a bit annoying. However, by Sunday evening, we had the entire reserve side to ourselves, which was fantastic.
The walk to the rim wasn't too difficult, and there are a couple of nice trails to explore. We all had Verizon and got one bar at the campsite and 2-3 bars closer to the rim. The short drive to Woods Canyon Lake was easy, and the $10 cash fee for the picnic area was reasonable for grilling and fishing. The on-site store was a lifesaver for any last-minute supplies.
The only downside was the bees. There seemed to be a nest nearby, and while we didn’t get stung, their swarming was quite annoying. The slight draft from the nearby restroom wasn’t too bad, and we managed just fine.
Overall, it was a great experience, and we’d definitely camp here again, though I’d probably choose a different site than 14 next time.
