Mogollon Campground receives high praise for its friendly and attentive hosts, well-maintained facilities, and convenient location near scenic trails and Woods Canyon Lake. The location (near Woods Canyon Lake) is excellent. You can easily walk or bike the long trails to the lake or along the rim. This campground sits right next tot the rim trail to experience wonderful views. The forest service just re-paved all the roads into this area making access MUCH better!! The hosts were great. Bathrooms are clean (keep in mind these are mass flow outhouses). Our site was clean and ready upon arrival. Overall, this is the best "bang-for-your-buck" campsite near the lake. Spillway Campground costs 5 times as much per night (but is it right next to the lake). This is our second year in a row staying at Mogollon (same campsite). It's worth your money and time, even if it is set apart from the other campgrounds.

The camp host was amazing and you can tell they take pride in their work. Short hike to the rim with gorgeous views.
