What Guests Are Saying
Ponderosa Campground is praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and spacious, well-maintained sites, making it a favorite for many campers. Families enjoyed the layout of Group Site E, and amenities like clean bathrooms and convenient trash disposal were highlighted positively. However, concerns were raised about tree removal plans affecting the campground's appeal and some noise disturbances from nearby highways and other campers.

It's a very beautiful campground. Host could have been more helpful when we pulled up and had no idea where to go. They didn't even care we were there.

The campsites are very roomy. During the week it was fairly empty and on the weekend totally full but you still felt somewhat secluded as the campsites are not right on top of you. I think loops C & D have the best spots. If you have an RV, the Dump Station is permanently closed as are the showers and Dumo Station at Houston Mesa. Payson RV & Campground has nice showers for $15 a person and unlimited time.

Group site was very nice at the end of the loop. Host drove through but didn’t stop. Lots of birds and squirrels around.

One campsite had loud music all day long and right up until 10:00pm. So very disturbing and rude to other campers. We have camped at Ponderosa Pines for over 14 years and never experienced this disappointed in the past!

The campground is very well kept. I actually had network with my Verizon service. I am definitely going back.

Beautiful settling among pines, we appreciate the very large campsites and fire rings. It's the all night long noise from 260 that makes this a 4 star vs 5 star experience.

A five-star, except for the widely marked (in blue) timber sale forthcoming this winter off-season that will decimate the ambiance of this beautiful site.

It was okay. For the lost part, it seems pretty private. The trees around you really seclude you in your spot. Bathrooms are water sources are very close by no matter what spot you take. The road noise alone is concerning though. If I were to come back again, I’d certainly try to pick a spot far back and away from the roads that might make a difference. 3/5
